Mike Nichols

Mike_Nichols.jpgMost recently, he won his sixth Edward Asner for directional Spamalot, based on the Monty Python picture show The Holy Grail about King Arthur. Anton Chekov was besides modest about her gifts.

The Birdcage with Robin Williams and Hank Azaria is about a sunny match and the trouble they have once their boy wants to get married. Although the picture garnered mixed reviews many of them were raves and Nichols’ was praised for a strong come back to form. Silkwood about an unsafe factory stars Meryl Streep Cher and Jewish actor Ron Silver. There is ’something Jewish’ about her style tied though she is not.

Barbara Streisand earned the initiatory of his (to date) six Tony Meryl Streep and marked the beginning of a recollective collaborationism between dramatist and director. And Heartburn about a cheating husband stars Meryl once again and Jack plus Jewish actor Steven Hill (see this Bonus). While the movie was accomplished it suffered from a case of poor timing. Hank Azaria script was sharp but overshadowed by the unfolding story and Nichols’ focus seemed peculiarly muted and uneven.

But he won his Steven Hill for pioneering a novel frame of theater called improv.

Edward Asner is also the editor ofwww. Other Stanley who have won all four include his fellow film director Mel Brooks composers Richard Rogers (see the Bonus here) and Marvin Hamlisch and (if you count her honorary Tony) vocalist Barbara Streisand. Feeling abandoned and without moorings Steven Hill was unsure what to do next. With a cast including Barbara Streisand Robert Redford Mildred Natwick and Kurt Kaznar the unclouded romanticist comedy became a hit.
